A Global Youth Benefit Concert & Book Drive for the Kids of Haiti
Young Entertainers Teaming Up, Reaching Out, and Making A Difference! Its Time to Get Involved!
URBAN BORN and I Heart Haiti Kids has teamed up with the philanthropic arm of Six Flags Theme Parks, Six Flags Friends, to host a benefit concert assisting the children of Haiti.
BRING TWO BOOKS TO SIX FLAGS MAGIC MOUNTAIN AND RECEIVE DISCOUNTED ADMISSION TO THE THEME PARK AND A FREE CONCERT ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27TH. THE FIRST 500 KIDS IN LINE WHO HAVE DONATED 2 BOOKS WILL RECEIVE A FREE COPY OF THE MUSIC PRODUCER 2.0 MUSIC PRODUCTION SOFTWARE.
The goal is to bring Awareness, collect books and raise funds to rebuild schools for Haiti kids. Focusing on the importance of education and helping devastated Haiti kids through their recovery process to receive a basic education. In the U.S., attending school for a basic education is a requirement for every child but in poor countries like Haiti, its a privilege of luxury. Every kid, no matter how poor, deserves a basic education. Our mission is to give Haiti kids a chance at a good start. By our team effort and our kids getting involved and doing their part, we are touching the hearts of a nation of kids that have lost so much. This is definitely not an overnight process nor a one time commitment. We are dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of these underprivileged kids through education. By donating and recycling books we are giving Haiti kids the opportunity to read, stimulate their imagination, dreams and give them hope for their future in the midst of tragedy.
Entertainers and musicians that have signed and are committed to I Heart Haiti Kids Benefit Concert and Book Drive: Hosting the concert is Kyla Pratt. Performing are Romeo & College Boyys, JoJo, Anna Marie Perez De Tagle, Logan Charles, Ariel Winter, Ashley Argota, Cymphonique, Fabulous Girls, Lil King, Lil Fresh Boyz, Hemphill Kids, Montana Tucker, Colton Burton and other Special Guests.
Haiti, the Western Hemispheres poorest nation has been hit by a catastrophic 7.0 earthquake on January 12, 2010. Southern Haiti was tragically damaged: killing over two hundred thousand people, leaving many children homeless, orphaned, and needing medical attention. Over a million are wounded while many are still without help. The quake was so powerful that people 200 miles away could feel it. Crumbled homes, collapsed buildings and schools, broken power lines, loud cries for lost loved ones leave the Haitian children with no vision for a future.
Event: I Heart Haiti Kids Benefit Concert & Book Drive.
Location: Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA.
Date & Time: February 27, 2010 2pm-5pm.
Admission: $24.99 + 2 new or gently used books.
Media, Red Carpet & Performance: Red Carpet will start at 12pm. Show will be from 2pm-5pm each artist will perform 1-3 songs. (Audience coming to the concert will receive a discounted park entrance with their 2 book donation.)
